ORing mentioned that, with 20 years of market experience and extensive accumulation in product development and on-site deployment, the company is helping railway operators and system integrators establish reliable and secure onboard networks for increasingly interconnected railway systems.
ORing indicates that its network products have been applied in passenger and freight railway projects in Europe, the United States, and Asia. The company states that these experiences have influenced its design approach for railway networks, where reliability throughout the entire lifecycle of the vehicles, interoperability between different suppliers, and ease of integration are all indispensable standards.
As trains are equipped with an increasing number of networked devices and provide services that require higher data throughput, the on-board network must simultaneously support critical control communications, video surveillance, and information for passengers on the same infrastructure. ORing indicates that the IRoN series offers TSN (time-sensitive network) technology, 10 GbE connections, or PoE ++ technology in some models to meet these demands, with the specific configuration depending on the model.
The company states that these options help to simplify wiring and device management, while ensuring the performance and reliability required for railway communications, as such communications have extremely high time-sensitive requirements. Operators can choose the appropriate configuration based on their own applications, while also retaining the ability to connect more services and devices as operational needs change.
ORing indicates that security has been incorporated from the very beginning of the design, rather than being added afterwards. The IRoN series is currently under development, with the goal of meeting the requirements of IEC Security Level 2 (62443-4-2), and it is expected to obtain certification. This development also takes into account the requirements of the European Union's Cyber Resilience Act (EU Cyber Resilience Act). By strengthening protections at the device level, it helps customers prepare for increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.
During the exhibition, ORing also displayed an ignition control power supply device that can respond to the vehicle's start and stop signals.
