IT News on September 30th: Online brokerage firm Robinhood held its annual event on Tuesday local time at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, where the executive team announced a series of new tools and services.

The most notable among these is an in-app artificial intelligence assistant. Robinhood AgentsAccording to the introduction, this tool can not only answer questions related to market conditions and build customized investment strategies from scratch, but it can also automatically monitor the market and execute trades on behalf of the user when the user is sleeping, working, or away from the screen.
Robinhood The Chief Executive Officer Vlad Tenev stated that these so-called agent trading tools will make the advanced trading capabilities, which were previously mainly reserved for hedge funds and professional institutions on Wall Street, accessible to ordinary retail investors.
In addition, Robinhood will also launch a number of new products, including perpetual futures contracts for cryptocurrencies and option products linked to financial reports, and plans to launch weekend stock trading services.
As mentioned in the IT community, as early as May this year, Robinhood had already integrated artificial intelligence capabilities into its trading platform, allowing users to connect external AI intelligent agents to the underlying trading system of this online brokerage firm. The company stated that since then, approximately 150,000 users have opened accounts for intelligent agent trading.
This update integrates the entire user experience into the Robinhood Markets application itself, in order to lower the barrier to use.
Users can issue commands to let the AI intelligence monitor the market and execute trades, which also includes repeat trading strategies that run according to preset conditions.
The system defaults to enabling a transaction confirmation mechanism for each individual transaction, but users can manually disable this confirmation feature, allowing the AI entity to conduct transactions autonomously. The AI entity can only use funds that have been transferred into an independent proxy account.
Robinhood Markets In the initial phase, users will be provided with large models developed by Anthropic and OpenAI. Robinhood Markets will charge model usage fees from users through its own platform; the company also stated that one of these models, named Luna, can be used for free for the remainder of 2026. The company has not disclosed whether it has signed revenue-sharing agreements with these AI service providers.
Robinhood Markets Reminder: Users are fully responsible for the consequences of all transactions conducted by the AI intelligent entity. The company also stated that no relevant statistics have been compiled yet, and there has been no comparison of investment returns between users who have opened proxy accounts and those who employ other non-automated trading strategies.
Robinhood believes that as users gradually become familiar with this new technology, they will initially only invest a small portion of their funds into the proxy account.
