News from IT on September 30th: The American AI Infrastructure Company Baseten announced today that it has reached a partnership with OpenAI, becoming one of the first open-source model inference service providers in the OpenAI B2B market. Enterprise users can now utilize open-source models such as Kimi K3 and GLM version 5.3 through Codex. This marks the first time that Chinese open-source models have entered the procurement systems of OpenAI enterprises.
IT has learned that Kimi K3 is a large model developed by Moon's Dark Side. Officials claim that it is the first open-source model with a parameter scale of 2.8 trillion. This model natively supports visual capabilities and has a context window of 1 million Token, making it very suitable for tasks such as long-duration programming and multi-document analysis.
Today, OpenAI enterprise users can call open-source models such as Kimi K3 through Codex or Responses API, enabling them to obtain more AI capabilities with the same budget. Baseten indicates that all the models it provides run on servers in the United States and implement zero data retention for all prompts ( ZDR).
