The new service leverages decades of corporate engineering experience represented by EPAM and existing laboratory partnerships with AI to provide advanced data and assessment services.
Newtown, Pennsylvania, October 5th / PRNewswire / -- EPAM Systems, Inc. ( NYSE : EPAM ) Today, we announce the launch of a new strategic service designed to support the next generation of cutting-edge AI models. EPAM states that this service is positioned as a foundational intelligent layer within the AI ecosystem, aiming to address a key bottleneck in the industry: enabling advanced AI models to execute complex, professional business workflows more reliably.
In the early days, generative AI models were primarily trained using widely available public data to master general language and coding capabilities. However, the industry has now entered a new phase. With the accelerating adoption of these technologies, the focus has shifted to complex enterprise workflows, multi-step proxy executions, and professional vertical reasoning that requires validated domain knowledge. EPAM states that, leveraging decades of extensive experience in designing, integrating, and maintaining complex enterprise workflows, the company will provide professional capabilities such as high-fidelity data generation, rigorous model evaluation, and the construction of customized reinforcement learning (RL) environments.
EPAM Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer Elaina Shekhter stated: "As cutting-edge AI evolves from general-purpose experimentation to complex enterprise workflows, the demand has fundamentally shifted from raw computing power to intelligent solutions in specialized fields. Our new services bridge this critical gap by combining our decades of extensive engineering expertise with our existing Frontier AI partnerships, enabling us to uniquely capture this vast and highly valuable market. We are not merely riding on the GenAI wave; we are actively building the infrastructure that makes enterprise-level autonomy possible."
EPAM indicates that these capabilities are also built upon the company's existing collaborations with leading AI laboratories, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft. EPAM states that the company boasts one of the largest AI engineering projects in the industry, having so far trained and deployed nearly 10,000 Claude certified architects, over 3,000 OpenAI certified frontline deployment engineers ( FDEs), and more than 5,000 Gemini certified experts. EPAM suggests that this certification capability, which covers the main model ecosystems, combined with the company's first-hand insights into where models perform well and where difficulties arise in enterprise deployments, can provide the laboratories with the necessary credible and high-level collaboration to accelerate model development and help enterprises move from pilots to measurable business results.
A core aspect of this service is the development of a RL environment that supports scenario simulation. EPAM indicates that these complex, controlled virtual environments can map to complex enterprise systems and workflows, allowing developers to conduct rigorous stress testing of multiple rounds of interactions, reasoning, and tool usage before production. At the same time, they provide a safe closed-loop feedback mechanism for reinforcement learning and continuous model improvement.
EPAM cites Gartner's report from April 2026, " Emerging Tech : AI Race : Simulation Supercharges Agent Evaluation and Self - Learning Loops for AI Agents", which states that by 2028, 99% of proxy platform providers will offer simulated environments, up from less than 25% in 2026.
