San Francisco, October 6th / PRNewswire / -- Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq ticker: ADSK) Today, it was announced that Diana Colella has been appointed as the Executive Vice President of the Company's Buildings, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) business. Colella will succeed Amy Bunszel, who previously announced his retirement and will remain in Autodesk until November 2, 2026, to support the handover process.

Colella will lead the industry business of Autodesk in scale. The company stated that as Autodesk enters the next phase of growth in its AEC business, this growth will be driven by Autodesk Forma. Forma is Autodesk's industry cloud for AEC, which can connect data, context, and workflows, providing AI and project intelligence throughout the entire AEC lifecycle.

Autodesk, President and CEO, stated: "The AEC industry is entering a new era, which creates new possibilities for the design, construction, and operation of buildings and infrastructure. The Amy and AEC teams have built a strong foundation for business and laid the groundwork for growth in the next phase. Forma is becoming the industry cloud of AEC, while AI is helping customers to cope with the increasing complexity throughout the project lifecycle. Diana is the right leader at this moment. She has a proven track record in leading major technological transformations, coordinating products, data, and teams around a clear vision, and transforming innovation into tangible customer results. Combined with her deep understanding of Autodesk and the industries we serve, Diana possesses unique advantages that will enable her to build on this momentum and help shape the future of AEC."

In his new role, Colella will drive the Forma strategy, while continuing to develop Revit and Civil 3D desktop products, as well as integrating them more closely with the Forma workflow. Autodesk states that by consolidating the data and context generated throughout the entire project lifecycle, the company aims to enable AI to better serve customers' daily work, help teams reduce friction, make more informed decisions, and enhance design and development capabilities.

Colella has nearly 30 years of leadership experience at Autodesk, covering areas such as finance, strategy, sales, operations, product management, and industry leadership. She joined the company after Autodesk acquired Discreet Logic, and since then has held various leadership positions within the company, including leading AutoCAD and helping to launch One AutoCAD. Her extensive experience gives her a deep understanding of how the product, operations, and marketing teams at Autodesk can collaborate to create customer success.

Recently, Colella led the AI transformation of Autodesk's Media and Entertainment (M&E) business, advanced the Flow platform strategy, and expanded Autodesk's role throughout the production process. By acquiring Moxion, PIX, and Wonder Dynamics, as well as continuously developing Autodesk Flow Studio, she helped to enhance the value that Autodesk brings to creators and studios. Colella will continue to oversee the M&E business and will initiate the selection of a new person in charge who will report directly to her.

Colella means: "Our clients are required to deliver more results while dealing with higher complexity, ongoing resource constraints, and rapid technological changes. My top priority is to listen to their needs, to build upon the solid foundation established by Amy and the team, and to ensure that the work we do in Forma and AI truly translates into substantial improvements in project design, construction, and operations. I am honored to lead the AEC business of Autodesk at such a critical moment for both our clients and the industry."

She stated that products such as market forecasting, commodity perpetual contracts, and Pre-IPO perpetual contracts are enabling objects that previously lacked a continuous trading market, such as news, commodities, and private companies, to have real-time, continuous price discovery mechanisms.
