Arch Lending Co-founders Explain the Reasons for Bitcoin Mortgage Loans at Three Corporate Bitcoin Events

Himanshu Sahay stated in Bitcoin Corporate Day in London, Midwest Bitcoin Summit in Columbus, and Bitcoin Treasuries Conference in New York that institutional borrowers should raise four questions before signing the terms list.

New York, October 7, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Arch Lending indicates that during three corporate Bitcoin events held in September, the same question was posed to institutional and individual holders: when you need liquidity, would you sell Bitcoin, or use Bitcoin as collateral to borrow money?

Arch Lending, co-founder and Chief Risk Officer, and Himanshu Sahay stated that the answer depends less on the apparent interest rates and more on the underlying arrangements of the loans.

Four questions before signing the terms and conditions list

During a panel discussion held in London on September 22nd, Sahay raised a question that he believes every borrower should ask the Bitcoin mortgage lender before signing. This event was an invitation-only forum for companies, funds, and financial institutions to participate in.

  • Who holds the key to the collateral?
  • Can collateral be repledged or reused?
  • What exactly triggers liquidation, and is it partial or total liquidation?
  • What would happen to Bitcoin if the lender goes bankrupt?

The discussion examined the operational mechanisms of institutional Bitcoin-backed credit, as well as the changes that have occurred in the market since 2022.

Obtaining liquidity without liquidation

Two days later, Sahay delivered a keynote speech titled "Liquidity Without Liquidation" at the Midwest Bitcoin Summit event held in Columbus, Ohio.

Sahay said, "Most people who have held Bitcoin for many years don't want to sell it. They want to get cash for housing or business purposes without giving up their holdings. Borrowing can achieve this, provided they know where their collateral is, whether it will be reused, and what will happen if the price falls."

For long-term holders, selling to cover large expenses means permanently giving up that position. Borrowing money allows one to retain the position, but it introduces interest costs, collateral requirements, and the possibility of having to margin call when prices fall.

Later on the same day, Klint Drici, the sales supervisor of Arch Lending, participated in a group discussion titled "From Stacking Sats to Enterprise Revaluation", which covered the development path from individual accumulation of Bitcoin to enterprise-level adoption of Bitcoin.

A young credit market

On September 28th, Sahay delivered a brief speech titled " Bitcoin - Backed Lending Enters the Wall Street Era " at the Bitcoin Treasuries Conference event held in New York, bringing this series of events to a close.

Sahay said, "Bitcoin, as a category of credit assets, is still very new. Real estate has taken decades and a government-backed mechanism to establish its reputation. This market is just beginning."

Arch Lending indicates that the borrower's collateral is held in a segregated custody manner by the federal chartered bank, Anchorage Digital, and the company will not re-pledge these collaterals. The company provides loans secured by Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, PAX Gold, and Tether Gold.
