Sofia, Bulgaria, October 12th / PRNewswire / -- Fibank (First Investment Bank) and Bitpanda GmbH have reached a strategic cooperation agreement. Under this cooperation, Fibank customers will be able to directly access advanced crypto asset services provided by Bitpanda GmbH, an encrypted asset service provider based in Austria with complete licenses, through the My Fibank mobile application.
Through this collaboration, Fibank has become the first bank in Bulgaria to offer customers seamless integration with encrypted asset trading. The original text states that these assets are digital products, different from traditional deposits and financial instruments, and do not provide any guarantees or compensation plans. Therefore, customers are advised to fully understand their unique characteristics and inherent risks.
After completing a simple application process and obtaining approval, Fibank customers will be able to use a full set of cryptocurrency services throughout the year through the Bitpanda interface embedded within My Fibank. The minimum investment amount is only 1 euro. This technological integration allows bank customers to view, manage, and optimize their digital assets in conjunction with traditional financial products within the same application.
Fibank CEO Nikola Bakalov stated: "Customers' financial habits are changing rapidly, and for My Fibank, it is essential to innovate in step with these changes. The collaboration with Bitpanda represents the natural next step in the continued development of this application as a digital platform, allowing customers to conveniently utilize an increasingly wide range of financial solutions. What is particularly important for us is that this new opportunity is realized with the support of a mature European technology partner and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements."
Crypto asset services will be provided by Bitpanda. Whether these services can be utilized will depend on whether potential customers are accepted by Bitpanda, as well as the terms and standards applicable to the company. The integration of Bitpanda infrastructure complements the existing features of My Fibank and marks a further step towards a comprehensive digital finance environment for My Fibank, providing a unified mobile entry point for banking, savings, and investment solutions.
Bitpanda Enterprise Global Head Nadeem Ladki states: "Digital assets are becoming a part of mainstream finance, and banks play a central role in this transformation. At Bitpanda Enterprise, we provide the infrastructure and technology for this. Together with Fibank, we are putting this into practice in Bulgaria, bringing crypto assets to over 1 million customers through a banking experience that they are already familiar with and trust."
The collaboration between Fibank and Bitpanda takes place against the backdrop of an increasing number of European banks seeking sustainable solutions that comply with regulatory requirements to meet the growing demand for digital asset transactions. In Bulgaria and broader regions, such services are still limited, which has made Fibank the first institution in Bulgaria and one of the first credit institutions in the EU to directly access the Bitpanda user interface via digital channels, enabling customers to utilize Bitpanda's crypto asset services.
