San Jose, California, October 12th / PRNewswire / -- Flex (Nasdaq ticker: FLEX) announced on Sunday that it is expanding its portfolio of prefabricated modular data center solutions, aiming to accelerate the deployment of next-generation AI facilities. This product portfolio includes a new AI Modules that integrates power supply, high-density computing power, and advanced liquid cooling into pre-designed, factory-manufactured systems, allowing customers to reduce deployment time by up to 50% compared to traditional construction methods.

The expanded product portfolio falls under the Cloud and Power Infrastructure ( CPI ) business departments of Flex. Flex plans to spin off this business into an independent listed company, Axiom, during the first quarter of the calendar year 2027.

"To meet the scale requirements of the AI infrastructure, we cannot just make incremental improvements. We need to rethink how power supply, computing power, and cooling work together as a system," predicted Chris Butler, the Chief Technology and Strategy Officer of Axiom. "Our system-level approach combines these key technologies with advanced manufacturing to simplify integration, accelerate deployment, and enable the large-scale implementation of AI factories."

As the scale and power density of the AI infrastructure continue to increase, data center operators face greater complexity in terms of power supply, cooling, computing power integration, and deployment. To address these challenges, a more integrated approach is needed to design and deploy the critical infrastructure that will support the next generation of AI factories.

Axiom AI Modules integrates critical AI infrastructure into pre-designed, factory-manufactured systems, including:

  • 800 VDC Power Rack: Provides efficient power conversion and distribution for the infrastructure and high-density computing power of the next generation 800 VDC AI.
  • Advanced cooling distribution unit (CDU): Provides liquid cooling to efficiently manage the increasing heat generated by high-power AI workloads.
  • High-density IT racks: Integrate AI servers, network devices, and high-speed interconnections to support the large-scale deployment of next-generation AI computing power.

By transferring the integration of complex infrastructure from the data center site to a controlled factory environment, Axiom AI Modules can be assembled, integrated, and tested in parallel with on-site construction. This approach reduces on-site complexity and helps customers put AI computing power into operation more quickly.

Flex is actively developing prefabricated modular solutions for hyperscale cloud service providers as part of its global expansion strategy, which includes manufacturing capacity for dedicated data center infrastructure covering over 3 million square feet in the United States. With its extensive experience in power supply, computing power, cooling, and system integration, Flex possesses the scale and capability to support the rapid deployment of AI infrastructure in various regions.
