The replacement is Rudalajhu, who was promoted to Chief Technology Officer of Computing Capacity with the title OpenAI earlier this summer. He joined OpenAI in July 2025 and previously served as the head of infrastructure engineering at xAI, an artificial intelligence company under Elon Musk.

Kati's departure is the latest in a recent wave of senior executive resignations at OpenAI. In this regard, Greg Brockman ( Greg Brockman ), the president of OpenAI, once stated that since the company is under the spotlight, every departure is subject to unprecedentedly strict scrutiny. However, he believes that such diversity and resilience among management will actually make the company stronger.
