A four-hour documentary about Elon Musk is still facing resistance on social media platforms, and TikTok has banned the advertising accounts for this film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, documentary distributor Bleecker Street recently received a notice from TikTok stating that the account was "permanently banned" due to political content. TechCrunch has contacted TikTok to seek a comment on this matter.
The advertisement placed for the trailer of " Musk ", directed by Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney, was initially rejected by Meta and YouTube as well. However, these platforms later allowed the advertisement to be shown. Meta attributed the rejection to "a mistake". Gibney recently confirmed that the international distributor of the film, Universal, had hesitated regarding the plans to distribute " Musk ", but the distribution is still underway at present.
Platform X also refused to place advertisements for Musk, which is owned by Elon Musk himself. TikTok holds shares in its American operations; Ellison, like Musk, is a well-known supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Musk was only released in four cinemas last weekend, but now it is being distributed on a larger scale. According to the plan, next year this film will also hit HBO – HBO. These regions are now under the jurisdiction of Paramount / Skydance, and are led by David, the son of Ellison.
