Spotify On Tuesday, a paid membership feature will be launched, providing podcast creators with a new way to earn money from their most loyal fans, no longer limited to free episodes behind paywalls.
Creators can decide what benefits to offer to their listeners, including free audio or video content, fewer advertisements, early access to programs, or any combination of these benefits.

This streaming media service company first announced this idea during its Investor Day in May, at which time they also introduced the AI feature, which allows listeners to ask questions about the content they are currently listening to or watching, and they also released new tools for managing creator sponsorships.
At the time, the company stated that the membership feature would help to "create a natural and in-depth path to unlock new, exclusive experiences for fans, as well as bring new revenue opportunities for creators."
This feature has now been gradually rolled out in 34 markets around the world, including the United States.

Creators can retain 90% of the member revenue and can package benefits into multiple tiers and different pricing schemes to attract fans with varying levels of investment. To qualify, podcasters must host their programs on Spotify, for, Creators, or Megaphone, have at least 100 hours of playback volume, 100 listeners or viewers, and have released at least three episodes of their programs.
A few programs will offer membership features upon launch, including “The Adam Friedland Show”, “Making Sense with Sam Harris”, “Shawn Ryan Show”, “The Sculpt Society”, “Two Hot Takes”, as well as YMH Studios. The latter will introduce membership features to 12 programs within its network.
