The newly launched Vertiv ™ SmartIT platform is a pre-engineered AI infrastructure solution based on the NVIDIA MGX ™ and OCP ORV3 architectures.

This scalable solution supports deployment in existing corporate facilities, new projects, commercial spaces, managed data centers, and ultra-large-scale environments without the need for redesign.

Columbus, Ohio, USA, October 26, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Vertiv Holdings Co. ( NYSE : VRT ), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, today launched the Vertiv ™ SmartIT solution. This is a pre-engineered architecture designed to simplify the high-density AI deployment for enterprises, research institutions, and managed service providers in both existing facilities and newly built data centers.

Previously, Vertiv had collaborated with NVIDIA to deploy this solution in order to support NVIDIA DGX ™ GB300 – which is the highest-performance and largest-scale AI system available for enterprises. Vertiv ™ SmartIT integrates rack infrastructure, DC power conversion and distribution, in-rack direct cooling and liquid cooling, as well as monitoring into a factory-verified design. By integrating and verifying these systems before shipment, Vertiv ™ SmartIT helps to reduce on-site integration complexity and allows for connection to the facility's power and cooling infrastructure. This solution is now available for deployment globally in AI.

Vertiv Chief Product and Technology Officer Scott Armul states: " AI is fundamentally changing the demands placed on data center infrastructure, requiring closer coordination between power supply, cooling, and IT systems to support increasingly complex workloads. Vertiv ™ SmartIT embodies our approach to this challenge by integrating these disciplines through factory-tested architectures. With our Vertiv expertise in critical infrastructure, we are helping customers simplify deployments, establish greater consistency in their AI environments, and build a foundation that can scale as computing needs evolve."

Vertiv ™ SmartIT Help customers address the following key deployment challenges:

  • Deployment cycle compression: Factory validation replaces on-site integration, limiting the scope of debugging to the facility connection level.
  • Multi-supplier coordination for reduction: Customers can cover rack, power, cooling, and monitoring with a single order, one partner, and one set of architecture.
  • The existing space can support AI: Brownfield enterprise facilities and Class A commercial buildings do not require complete reconstruction to support AI level density.
  • More scalability and reusability: The same basic module can support growth from single-rack to multi-rack deployments, without the need for redesign at each stage.
  • Operational visualization enhancement: Integrating leak detection, automatic response, and continuous monitoring provides visibility from the rack level to the site level. These capabilities are built-in from the very beginning into the solution, rather than being pieced together from tools provided by different vendors.

Vertiv ™ SmartIT is an extensible, pre-engineered infrastructure platform designed for high-density AI deployments. It supports NVIDIA GB300 NVL72, NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72, NVIDIA DGX ™ Rubin NVL8, and NVIDIA HGX ™ Rubin NVL8. The platform is based on the NVIDIA MGX ™ and Open Compute Project (OCP) ORV3 architecture.

The platform is designed to expand from single-rack deployment to multi-rack deployment, allowing customers to deploy and scale AI infrastructure within a unified architecture, while integrating power, cooling, monitoring, and control. Built-in monitoring, leak detection, and support for Redfish, SNMP, and Modbus help to simplify operations and maintenance, while Vertiv ™ Global Services supports deployment, debugging, and full lifecycle management.

Vertiv SmartIT can be deployed as part of a broader Vertiv infrastructure architecture, with supporting solutions that extend integration and management capabilities beyond the rack. Vertiv ™ SmartRun integrates across entire rows of cabinets, while Vertiv ™ rack power distribution units ( rPDU ) provide power distribution and monitoring. Vertiv ™ Unify offers integrated monitoring, analysis, and control over power and thermal management infrastructure, including leak detection and coordinated response control. Together, these solutions help customers expand from a single Vertiv ™ SmartIT deployment to larger AI environments.

On NVIDIA GTC Berlin in October, Vertiv showcased the Vertiv ™ SmartIT equipped with the NVIDIA HGX ™ Rubin NVL8 demonstration unit. This presentation highlighted an integrated infrastructure architecture designed to support NVIDIA DGX Rubin NVL8 deployments, enabling customers to start at an appropriate scale and scale within a unified infrastructure as AI requirements grow.
