A new assessment solution brings together performance data from the entire region on one platform, enabling a deeper understanding of students' progress.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana, October 27, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- By entering into a new strategic partnership with leading K-12 assessment, data, and insights solutions provider Otus, East Baton Rouge Parish School System is continuing its commitment to supporting over 36,000 students across nearly 70 schools using student performance data. This collaboration has helped teachers and administrators gain a clearer understanding of student progress and enhanced their ability to transform data into targeted actions.
To enhance the ability of school districts to collect, interpret, and analyze key data, East Baton Rouge Parish School System ( EBR Schools ) is seeking suitable partners across the United States. The goal is to find a single, integrated platform that can provide teachers with consistent assessment data and also support school district-level accountability for performance indicators. Otus was selected for its approach of combining formative assessments used to monitor daily learning with benchmark assessments that measure the overall progress of school districts against grade-level standards, while also integrating data from existing third-party assessments.
To welcome the 2026-2027 academic year, Otus needs to be launched within 30 days. From the end of June to August, Otus and EBR Schools worked closely together to complete the system integration for faculty and staff, class arrangement, and preliminary training, laying the foundation for a successful launch across the district. In addition, district administrators took on strong internal leadership roles during the implementation process, becoming the primary source of support for faculty and staff, and helped to boost the confidence and capabilities of educators in each school.
The first formative assessment ( CFA ) test window was launched on August 31, enabling educators to gain an early understanding of students' individual progress within specific learning units. Subsequent assessments throughout the academic year will continue to measure students' achievement of Louisiana state standards, helping educators identify areas of strength as well as areas that require focused support.
Otus, co-founder and president, Chris Hull stated: "Otus has already helped school districts across the United States to unify data, assessments, and progress monitoring in a connected view. We are delighted to bring our expertise to this first collaboration project in Louisiana. As the state continues to raise standards of accountability for school districts through initiatives such as Grow, Achieve, and Thrive, EBR Schools has taken another step forward to more effectively track student performance."
The way EBR Schools empowers educators in the classroom also reflects its commitment to continuous improvement. East Baton Rouge Parish School System, the Chief Officer responsible for accountability, evaluation, and assessment, stated that: Konski ' EBR Schools is committed to creating a culture where educators can access innovative tools and ongoing support to enhance classroom teaching. With the help of Otus, we are providing teachers, students, and families with a comprehensive picture of progress, as well as the insights needed to help each child achieve their learning goals.'
