Las Vegas, October 27th / PRNewswire / -- Oracle AI World -- Oracle today announced the addition of new capabilities to Oracle Acceleron. Oracle Acceleron is a set of networking and infrastructure technologies from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure ( OCI ), designed to help customers run demanding AI workloads in a reliable, secure, and scalable manner.
The newly added features are built upon the continuous investment in high-performance connections, network architecture, host-level acceleration, and security of OCI. They provide customers with greater flexibility in computing and storage, while also enhancing the network's ability to adapt to changing conditions.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Computing and AI Infrastructure Executive Vice President Pradeep Vincent stated: "The AI infrastructure can be quite demanding in terms of network friction. When thousands of accelerators are working together, a single congested or failed path can have a much greater impact than a single connection. With the help of Oracle Acceleron, we are building a network that can reroute traffic, recover from failures, and help customers scale securely."
Oracle Acceleron combines dedicated networks fabric, more direct data paths, and integrated NIC to enhance performance and reduce costs. At the same time, it enhances security and resilience through host-level zero-trust routing and multi-plane design. Its unique software architecture simplifies complex network operations and maintenance by using a programmable foundation, unifying advanced networking, storage, and security capabilities across a wide range of hardware.
New capabilities cover AI data transmission, distributed AI communication, and secure multi-tenant AI infrastructure:
AI Data Transmission
- Oracle Acceleron High Performance fabric: Through OCI front-end computing and RDMA connections, we help customers deploy inference, storage, and HPC workloads with higher performance.
- Extended NVMe block storage mounting options: Help customers support AI, databases, and other data-intensive workloads on Oracle Acceleron BMS and virtual machine specifications, with performance potentially increased by up to 3 times.
Distributed AI communication
- Oracle Collective Communications Library: By distributing collective communication traffic across the multi-plane network of the OCI backend, it helps customers maintain the operation of distributed AI workloads in the event of network path failures. It directs traffic to healthier paths and assists in the immediate recovery of workloads when links, ports, or NIC fail, thereby significantly enhancing network availability and resilience.
- Transparent Frontend Multi-Plane Network: By introducing a multi-plane network into the frontend network, and incorporating built-in transparent path selection, failover, as well as transparent congestion control for frontend RDMA traffic, we help customers enhance the resilience of their computing infrastructure.
