Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, October 28th / PRNewswire / -- Clinical trial technology company Suvoda announced today the release of new features for its software and services Greenphire Travel, which are specifically designed to eliminate logistical barriers that hinder patients from participating in trials. Transportation has always been one of the most significant logistical obstacles in clinical trial recruitment and retention. For example, in a recent study CISCRP, 49% of participants who considered the study to be disruptive cited transportation to and from the research clinic as a reason. The release of this latest product is aimed at reducing these obstacles.

Greenphire Travel now provides sponsors and CRO with more travel support options, higher visibility of travel costs and itinerary status, as well as a simplified travel experience for patients.

"Clinical trial participants often have to deal with not only severe illnesses but also various logistical requirements for traveling to the treatment locations. Greenphire Travel takes the burden of coordination off of the research centers and patients, allowing them to focus on what is truly important: their health and well-being," said Suvoda, the Director of Patient Experience Product Management at Elizabeth Smith.

Provide more shared mobility access for participants, and offer more control to research centers and sponsors.

Greenphire Travel currently provides global shared mobility and private car services. Lyft, Uber Health, and Bolt are available to participants and research centers depending on the region. Participants can book eligible trips through Suvoda App and view information such as flights, hotels, shared mobility status, research appointments, questionnaires, and payments. This reduces the routine status inquiries directed at research center staff and also gives participants more direct control over their own trial experiences.

Research centers can obtain a more intuitive travel request process, a clearer view of trip status, as well as a security messaging function. Sponsors and CRO can get more detailed reports, thereby gaining a better understanding of travel expenses and policy implementation in global trials.

"As clinical trials become increasingly complex, sponsors and research centers need to gain interconnected and actionable insights throughout the entire research process," said Will Wing, Product Director of Suvoda. "This release integrates real-time travel status, summary reports, and clearer cost information into a simplified experience. That's the value of a platform-based approach."

Sponsors can choose a travel support model that suits each study.

Greenphire Travel provides expert-level global support services, offered through two different delivery modes. The option led by research centers allows research teams to easily initiate simple travel requests, while the Concierge mode provides high-touch, personalized coordination for more complex research and participant needs. Concierge coordinators are located in over 40 countries and can provide support to participants around the clock during the trial period.

"Clinical trials vary greatly in complexity, and so should the support provided behind the scenes," stated Wing. "Sponsors can choose the appropriate level of service for each study or each research center, rather than adopting a single model for the entire product portfolio. This difference is particularly important for patients with tumors or rare diseases."

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: In which regions can Greenphire Travel be used?

Answer: Greenphire Travel provides services globally and has already supported over 8,400 research centers in more than 50 countries, as well as over 2,000 trials. Through the shared mobility access provided by Lyft, Uber Health, and Bolt, it is now open to participants and research centers in multiple regions. Coordinators for Concierge are distributed across more than 40 countries, providing 24/7 localized support in their native languages.

Question: Do patients or research centers need to prepay for travel expenses?

Answer: No need. The design of Greenphire Travel is to ensure that patients, caregivers, and research centers do not have to pay out of pocket for travel services within the coverage range. Eligible travel expenses are pre-funded by sponsors and managed through Suvoda, thereby eliminating reimbursement delays and reducing financial burdens on participants and research centers.
