Los Angeles, November 2 (Reuters) / PR Newswire / -- Match Group (Nasdaq ticker: MTCH) announced its financial results for the third quarter ending September 30, 2026, today.
Over the past year, we have consistently stated that a better user experience will lead to better business results. Although there is still work to be done, the third quarter provided further evidence that this strategy is working," said CEO Spencer Rascoff. Tinder's Sparks 1 and Sparks Coverage 2 recorded their strongest quarterly year-over-year performances since we began tracking them, and the number of daily active users saw year-over-year growth in September for the first time in three and a half years. Early results from Events and Group Hangouts indicate that Tinder is building the right features, and we are also doubling our efforts on the 'Better with Friends' roadmap to encourage users to reconsider. Hinge is a leader in the intentional dating sector, and we see significant opportunities in both its core and expansion markets. There is still more work to be done, but we are meeting the milestones we set, and as we move towards 2027, our confidence is also growing.
"This quarter, we have met our financial expectations, and at the same time, the underlying trends of Tinder continue to improve," stated Chief Financial Officer Steve Bailey. "Our prudent capital allocation strategy has resulted in a 4.4% year-over-year decrease in the diluted number of outstanding shares, and a 10% reduction since the beginning of 2025. Looking ahead, we are focused on transforming the user trends of Tinder into sustainable revenue growth by 2027, while continuing to generate strong free cash flow and shareholder returns."
