Atlanta, November 5 (Reuters) – First Advantage Corporation (Nasdaq ticker: FA) announced on Thursday the acquisition of Data Diver Technologies, LLC (“Data Diver Technologies”), a data platform company that utilizes artificial intelligence and automation, with a transaction valuation of approximately $125 million.

Over the past two decades, Data Diver Technologies has established a proprietary data platform driven by an automated compliance engine, capable of collecting, aggregating, retaining, and delivering large volumes of criminal and court records to support fast and accurate background checks. This acquisition also includes a smaller employment background check business, primarily targeting the small and medium-sized enterprise market. First Advantage plans to integrate it into its broader operations. The company's management team will continue to stay at First Advantage to support business continuity and sustained growth, as well as to maintain customer relationships.

First Advantage currently has over 1 billion records in its proprietary database, while Data Diver Technologies will further expand the company's data and technical capabilities through automated collection and broader coverage of various judicial jurisdictions in the United States. The company states that the combination of the two is expected to improve compliance processes, drive product innovation, and enhance First Advantage's ability to provide faster and more efficient screening results.

First Advantage CEO Scott Staples stated: " Data Diver Technologies is a company that we are very familiar with and has for many years been a key third-party data provider for First Advantage. This acquisition advances our strategy, enhances our proprietary data capabilities, expands automation, and creates new opportunities for expanding solutions and driving product innovation. These additional resources and capabilities will help us provide customers with faster turnaround times, support high-quality results, and further solidify First Advantage's differentiated advantage in the market."
