According to CoinMeta, a latest survey report released by the Ontario Securities Commission ( OSC ) shows that the number of cryptocurrency holders in Canada has more than doubled over the past few years. Currently, one-quarter (25%) of Canadians hold digital assets or crypto investment funds, up from 10% in 2023 and 13% in 2022. The survey also indicates that cryptocurrencies are moving beyond mere speculation; 74% of current cryptocurrency owners stated that they have actually used digital assets, and 89% of stablecoin holders reported using their holdings, with 20% of that usage for international transfers. In addition, investors' awareness of due diligence is improving, as 50% of cryptocurrency owners check whether the trading platform is legally registered before making an investment, compared to 38% in previous surveys.
