According to CoinMeta, Amazon released its financial report for the second quarter of 2026, which showed quarterly revenue of $200.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20%, and operating profit of $27.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 43%, exceeding market expectations. Revenue reached $42.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 37%, marking the fastest growth rate in 18 quarters, with the market previously anticipating a growth of around 31%. Operating profit increased by 64% to $16.6 billion. Amazon's net profit rose to $62.6 billion, but this included $53.4 billion in pre-tax investment income, mainly from the appreciation of its holdings. Amazon also raised its capital expenditure plan for the year from $200 billion to $220 billion. Free cash flow over the past 12 months decreased from a positive $18.2 billion to a negative $7.6 billion, mainly due to increased investment in related equipment. After the release of the financial report, Amazon's stock price rose nearly 9% after the market closed.
