CoinMeta data: According to Galaxy Research, in the second quarter of 2026, venture capital (VC) investment in the crypto and blockchain sectors amounted to approximately $5.68 billion, representing a 31% increase from the previous quarter. This growth was mainly driven by larger-scale late-stage financings, with about 78% of the investment funds going towards late-stage projects. Companies in the areas of trading, exchanges, investment, and lending received a total of around $3.52 billion, accounting for about 60% of the quarterly financing amount. U.S.-based projects continued to dominate, receiving 73.5% of the investment funds. However, the fundraising environment for cryptocurrencies VC remains weak; in the second quarter, only $3.9 billion flowed into 5 new funds, and the number of new funds remained at a multi-year low.
