According to CoinMeta, the Council of State, the highest administrative court in France, rejected the emergency applications filed by bull, bitcoin, and paymium, refusing to immediately suspend the implementation of the French decree that complies with the European Union's 'Directive 8 on Administrative Cooperation' (dac8). The court deemed that the applicants failed to prove the existence of urgent circumstances sufficient to support an emergency suspension. The lawsuit filed by bull and bitcoin seeking to completely revoke the decree is still under consideration. The directive came into effect within the EU on January 1, 2026, and registered service providers are required to complete their first annual declaration for 2026 by September 30, 2027.
