According to CoinMeta, Column, a bank founded by Plaid, a giant in US financial technology infrastructure, and co-founded by William Hockey, has launched a native stablecoin infrastructure for banks. This infrastructure directly integrates USDC and USDT into the bank's core systems, allowing stablecoin addresses to be on the same ledger as bank accounts. This enables instant conversions between stablecoins and US dollars 24/7 and connects with payment networks such as ACH, Fedwire, FedNow, RTP, and SWIFT. Plaid is a major provider of bank account connectivity and financial data API in the United States, serving thousands of financial applications.
