According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) introduced an innovative exemption on September 17th, providing a compliant pathway for tokenized U.S. listed stocks to be traded on blockchain. Eligible tokenized securities exchanges do not need to register as national stock exchanges and can conduct tokenized stock trading on public, unlicensed blockchains through automated market makers and liquidity pools. This exemption is valid for 5 years and only applies to genuine tokenized stocks that possess full shareholder rights, excluding synthetic products that merely track prices.
