CoinMeta data: On September 12, the bankruptcy assets of the Celsius network filed a lawsuit against the BitMEX entity in New York, seeking compensation related to 6,360.1666 bitcoins, amounting to approximately $495 million. The complaint alleges that the exchange operator engaged in fraud, market manipulation, and incorrect liquidation practices during the Bitcoin crash in March 2020. The lawsuit was filed as BitMEX prepared to cease trading operations on September 23, marking new claims against entities related to the platform, which has already been in a state of operational suspension. The defendants mentioned in the complaint include HDR Global Trading Limited, ABS Global Trading Limited, and 100x Holdings Limited, among others. Celsius indicates that BitMEX incorrectly liquidated its positions and seized digital assets during the market crash. The details of this lawsuit still need to be confirmed by the bankruptcy court, and the relevant defendants may raise objections regarding legal aspects such as liability, jurisdiction, and damages.
