According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, the U.S. Cryptocurrency Market Structure Act clarity failed to reach the 60-vote threshold in a procedural vote in the Senate, with 49 votes in favor and 50 against. Republican Senator Thom Tillis submitted a motion to reconsider by changing his vote from yes to no, thus preserving a path for further consideration of the bill. Democratic Representative Shri Thanedar stated that with only 20 legislative days remaining in this Congress, the likelihood of reaching a compromise is very low. The current legislative obstacle focuses on President Trump's holdings of digital assets and related ethical constraints.
