Coinbase Derivatives Submits Application for Stocks and ETF Perpetual Futures to CFTC of the United States
2026-09-19 09:15:50
According to CoinMeta, Coinbase Derivatives has submitted an application to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) seeking to launch single-stock and ETF cash-settled perpetual futures for the U.S. market, with plans to go live after obtaining CFTC and other necessary regulatory approvals. The product will cover high-liquidity U.S.-listed stocks that meet certain criteria, with Apple Inc. (AAPL) serving as the representative contract. Coinbase has previously offered stock perpetual futures to non-U.S. users, and this application aims to introduce such products into the U.S. regulated market. As these are securities and futures products, the related contracts will be subject to the regulation of both CFTC and SEC.
