South Korea's Hana Bank Issues $100 Million in Digital Bonds via the Euroclear Blockchain

According to CoinMeta, South Korea’s Hana Bank recently issued a five-year digital bond worth $100 million through the blockchain platform of Euroclear. This transaction is described as South Korea’s first digital bond issuance that directly utilizes the blockchain infrastructure of Euroclear. According to reports from Yonhap, the issuance, registration, and settlement of this bond were all processed on a distributed ledger network, and the process of distributing and settling payments using this technology was reduced from three to five working days to just one day. In addition, this bond is also connected to Euroclear’s existing global settlement network, allowing investors to trade through their existing accounts and trading systems.
