According to CoinMeta, Spaces has launched trust and anchor, which allow applications to directly verify human-readable identities based on Bitcoin without relying on centralized servers. After users obtain a single trust and id, they can scan or paste it into applications that are compatible with Spaces to verify their identity using the locally verified Spaces protocol. trust and id are generated by the Bitcoin block header chain and the cumulative state of Spaces. Applications on macOS can generate this id without needing to run a full Bitcoin node, and users can also connect to personal nodes or generate it through the Spaces client. This solution uses Bitcoin as the foundation for a decentralized certificate issuance authority, allowing applications to authenticate identities without having to trust company servers.
