According to CoinMeta, Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 on Tuesday, which is the first model in its Claude 5.5 series. This model performs comparable to its most expensive flagship product, Claude Fable 5.1, on most tasks, but has a 20% lower operating cost than Opus 5 and is 60% cheaper than Fable 5.1. Opus 5.5 performed exceptionally well in multiple benchmark tests, achieving a completion rate of 66.4% on complex professional tasks, which surpasses the 55.8% of Fable 5.1. The input and output token costs for this model are $4 and $20 per million respectively, with the cache read cost reduced by 60% to $0.20 per million. Opus 5.5 is now available on multiple platforms, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
