Bain: AI needs to generate $4.2 trillion in new revenue by 2031

According to CoinMeta, as reported by Bain and Company, the artificial intelligence (AI) industry will require $6 trillion in annual revenue by 2031. Of this, existing AI products are expected to generate up to $1.8 trillion, leaving a gap of $4.2 trillion. The report indicates that meeting the computational demands of AI will necessitate $6 trillion in revenue. Bain estimates that annual expenditures on AI infrastructure could reach $1.5 trillion by 2031, covering the construction of new data centers and upgrades in computing power. The report also mentions that consumer subscriptions and advertising are expected to generate $200 billion to $400 billion in revenue by 2031, while enterprise applications could add another $1 trillion to $1.4 trillion. Bain also notes that the capital expenditures of companies such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta, and Oracle could reach $780 billion by 2026, which is nearly five times what they were three years ago.
