CoinMeta data: Apple has fixed a vulnerability (iOS) that affected iPhone and iPad, which may have been exploited in highly targeted attacks. Blockchain security researchers warn cryptocurrency users to update their affected devices. On September 28, Apple stated that CVE-2026-86950 affected CoreGraphics, potentially allowing arbitrary code to be executed when the device processed malicious files. This vulnerability was fixed in iOS 26.7.1 and iPadOS 26.7.1 through improved boundary checks. The chief information security officer at SlowMist said that Apple's critical security update may have fixed a zero-day vulnerability that was actively exploited to steal data from encrypted wallets. SlowMist warns that this patch is particularly important for cryptocurrency holders, as researchers have recently tracked iOS attacks that can obtain sensitive wallet information. Affected devices include iPhone 11 and later models, as well as several iPad models that are still running iOS 26 or iPadOS 26.
