According to CoinMeta, the European Central Bank (ECB) is seeking financial technology companies, payment firms, and other organizations to explore the use of blockchain agents and machine-to-machine interactions in digital euro payments. The ECB launched a new round of applications for its digital euro innovation platform on Monday, planning to divide the project into practical tests of payment functions and seminars on future applications of the digital euro. The experimental phase will take place from January to June 2027, during which participants will develop prototypes for electronic receipts, multi-party transactions, conditional payments, and new front-end features. Seminars scheduled for the first half of 2027 will cover payments driven by blockchain technology, micro-payments, machine-to-machine interactions, as well as the application of the digital euro in public services.
