CoinMeta data: Developers of Zcash are moving some of the code for the proposed scaling upgrade into a faster private payment software that is already in use on the network. This part, named Udon, was initially developed as part of the Tachyon project. Udon was released on Monday to Zakura Common, which is a shared encryption library used by Zakura and other Zcash projects. Zcash wallets need to prove the validity of private payments without revealing the parties involved or the amount. The computers running the network then check this proof. Early improvements to Common reduced the time required to generate this proof from over three seconds to less than 200 milliseconds in some tests. Udon introduces some of the calculations required for the scaling upgrade proposed by Tachyon into Common, allowing developers to build upon the accelerated code. Udon has been released as software, but this upgrade has not yet been activated on Zcash.
