2026-09-29 20:36:59
According to CoinMeta, the Central Bank of Belarus announced the approval for two crypto banks to operate within the Minsk Financial Technology Center. This is the first such move by the country since the introduction of new types of entities, aimed at combining cryptocurrency services with traditional banking activities. The Supervisory Committee of the Belarus High-Tech Park (HTP) held a meeting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, during which the registration of these two crypto banks was approved. This authorization will allow these institutions to conduct digital asset operations within the special legal framework of the IT park. Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus's long-time leader, signed a decree regarding crypto banks on January 16, 2026, and subsequently, HTP and the central bank established a series of specific requirements aimed at regulating the activities of this category of service providers.
