2026-09-30 10:13:36
According to CoinMeta, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon stated that the status of the dollar as a reserve currency depends on the strength of the U.S. economy. He hopes that Washington can reach trade agreements with allies to protect the dollar. Dimon expressed this view in an interview with Bloomberg this week and also published related comments in The Wall Street Journal. He believes that both the most powerful military and the role of the dollar as a reserve currency depend on having the world's strongest economy. He pointed out that foreign investors hold $20 trillion to $30 trillion in assets in the United States, while American companies hold almost an equal amount overseas. In addition, Dimon also mentioned 40 military alliances and 20 free trade agreements. He acknowledges that unfair treatment needs to be addressed, but his priority is to complete these agreements. Dimon further proposed a free trade agreement between the United States and Europe in his comments for The Wall Street Journal, as a condition for European economic and military reforms.
