According to CoinMeta, the yield spread between France's 10-year government bonds and Germany's bonds exceeded 120 basis points for the first time, reaching a new high in 14 years, mainly due to political uncertainty and accelerating inflation putting pressure on France's debt. This move comes as France prepares to issue a record 340 billion euros in bonds in 2027, with this year's deficit expected to reach 5.4%. Currently, the yield on French bonds is 22 basis points higher than that of Italian bonds, representing an unprecedented reversal since the euro era.
