Once girls are empowered, the gender gap in AI usage narrows, with a higher usage rate among girls (88% vs. 83%) than among boys. The school system in New York City implemented a one-year ban on students using generative AI, emphasizing a cautious approach to technology. Libraries in South Philadelphia held "Avoid AI" workshops to help users turn off the AI function on their devices. These actions indicate that the public wishes to control the use of technology, rather than to be automatically selected by it.
