According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Treasury Department will conduct a new round of liquidity repurchases on October 1st. This time, up to $6 billion in 10- to 20-year Treasury bonds will be purchased, which is three times the scale of the previous repurchase. Recent selling of Treasury bonds has caused long-term yields to rise to multi-year highs. Greater demand for Treasury bonds can support bond prices and may lower yields, providing a positive backdrop for the stock and crypto markets. Although this will help market liquidity, it is not equivalent to the Federal Reserve's quantitative easing policy.
