Brazilian oil giant tests Cardano technology
2026-10-01 03:10:59
According to CoinMeta, as reported by U.Today, Brazil's state-owned energy giant Petrobras recently launched two blockchain applications based on Cardano aimed at tracking the traceability of low-carbon fuels. The Cardano Foundation announced on Friday that it has collaborated with Petrobras and the Blockchain Research Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro Ledger Labs to develop applications for sustainable aviation fuel SAF and diesel products containing renewable components Diesel R. The first application is designed to address the issue of proving who has the right to claim environmental benefits associated with a specific quantity of SAF. Cardano is used as an auditable record for the aforementioned claims and is managed with the help of tokens. This project does not imply that Petrobras will use ADA as a payment asset; rather, the blockchain of Cardano will serve as the infrastructure for recording and verifying data.
