CoinMeta data: GoPlus Security reports that September 2026 was the most expensive month in the Web3 security sector, with a total of 39 major incidents occurring, resulting in losses of approximately $793 million, which is 4.2 times higher than in August ($188 million) and 2.5 times higher than in July ($319 million). Among these, the incident involving hot wallets caused the largest single loss, amounting to about $387.5 million.
