According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has submitted the rules for predictive markets for review by the White House. Two proposed contract actions regarding certain events arrived at the White House on September 28th; one of these proposals defines swaps to include event-related contracts, while the other excludes casino-style gambling products. Five days prior to that, a federal appeals court ruled that sports-related contracts did not constitute swaps, allowing the states of Ohio and Tennessee to apply their state gambling laws. The proposal regarding CFTC is currently under review, and the specific definitions have not yet been announced.
