According to CoinMeta, Paramount has pledged to release at least 30 films per year in order to win over the acquisition bid from Warner Bros. A federal judge has approved the settlement agreement between Paramount and 12 states, removing the last obstacle to its nearly $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The transaction is expected to be completed on October 6th. The settlement agreement requires the merged company to pay a fine of $30 million per year; if it fails to meet its film release commitments, it will also be required to sell its minority stake in Miramax. The agreement also stipulates that in the first two years, at least 20 wide-release films must be produced each year, with this number increasing to 21 in subsequent years. The merged company will also need to spend an additional $300 million per year on production in the United States.
