According to CoinMeta, Amazon has signed an agreement with Constellation Energy to lock in 690 megawatts of nuclear power supply over the next 20 years, supporting infrastructure investments of over $3 billion to meet the growing demand for electricity. The agreement also includes coverage of Amazon's retail power supply in 13 states and is expected to help Amazon manage the energy costs of its facilities. This move also provides greater revenue certainty for Constellation, facilitating the extension of the operating license for Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant. This power plant, the only one in Maryland, is capable of producing up to 1790 megawatts of electricity, sufficient to supply more than 1.3 million households.
