According to CoinMeta, Tokyo's core inflation indicators have risen significantly, further supporting the Bank of Japan's policy stance of continuing to raise interest rates. Data released by Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on Friday showed that Tokyo's consumer price index (CPI) excluding fresh food in September rose by 2.7% year-on-year, higher than economists' forecast of 2.3%, and also a marked acceleration from the 1.8% increase in August. Factors contributing to the acceleration of inflation include a substantial rise in water fees, which increased by about 66% year-on-year, and accommodation prices shifted from a year-on-year decrease of 1.4% in the previous month to an increase of 4.6%. The Bank of Japan raised interest rates for the second time last month, with two consecutive rate hikes within three months, the shortest interval since 1990, and is currently seeking to determine the appropriate timing for the next interest rate hike.
