According to CoinMeta, Wu said that Osmosis posted that two proposals were intended to withdraw the no-longer-functional community pool liquidity and destroy approximately 17.4 million OSMO, increasing the total number of destroyed tokens by 65%. The proposals were initiated by johnnywyles on September 30, with a target of going live on the blockchain on October 3, 2026. Proposal one involves withdrawing four static centralized liquidity positions and the ntrn / osmo positions funded by proposal. The recovered OSMO will be destroyed, while ETH will be returned intact, and the remaining assets will be converted into BTC before being returned to the community pool. Proposal two, due to margined ceasing to provide liquidity hosting services, aims to withdraw the remaining OSMO liquidity-backed token pairs and the ETH / BTC custody vaults, directly recovering about 8.1 million OSMO. In total, 9.4 million OSMO will be destroyed, and ETH and BTC will be returned to the community pool, with a recoverable value of approximately $342,000. Both proposals were executed with over 4/6 of the required signatures from Osmosis liquidity subdao, and the destroyed tokens will be sent to an empty address for destruction.
