According to CoinMeta, the deadline set by Congress for OpenAI has arrived, and the company has fired employees who helped Congress understand its issues. The White House's self-regulatory framework is facing challenges from three directions: Congress, regulators, and internal whistleblowers, and the company's response has been to fire those who spoke out. On September 29th, OpenAI President Greg Brockman signed a joint commitment on advanced responsibilities at the White House, which stipulates that signatories will establish four layers of internal control, monitoring, and independent external audits. President Trump referred to this arrangement as "a great form of self-regulation." This agreement is voluntary and not binding.
