Velocity has opened applications for compensation for theft, with the first batch of payouts being approximately 1% of the loss.

According to CoinMeta, the Velocity ecosystem’s perpetual contract exchange has opened a compensation application process for the theft incident that occurred in April. Users who lost 1 USDT can receive 1 DFX token in compensation. The current exchange rate is 0.0104 USDT per DFX, which is approximately 1% of the loss. The current size of the compensation pool is about 3.11 million USDT, and the total supply of DFX is about 299.5 million tokens, with no further issuance planned. The Velocity foundation stated that the compensation pool will continue to be funded by protocol revenues, and Tether has committed to providing up to 127.5 million USDT to support restarts and user compensations. The application deadline is January 1, 2028. Velocity was attacked in April, resulting in a loss of about 295.4 million US dollars.
