According to CoinMeta, co-founder Hans Birringer stated that on October 3rd, AQAV2, treasury, and wallet of hyperliquid completed their first payment of approximately $14.58 million, which corresponds to the 30-day USDC reserve income. This adds a new source of revenue for the protocol in addition to transaction fees. The initial period covers 30 reserve balance readings from August 26th to September 24th, with an implied average interest rate of about 3.14%. Under the AQAV2 mechanism, the relevant USDC reserve income is settled every 30 days and paid to assistance and fund for the purchase of HYPE. Hans data shows that from January to September 2026, the trading volume of hyperliquid perpetual contracts was approximately $2 trillion, and the protocol earned about $493.3 million in transaction fees.
