Greenfield Capital Complaints to Swiss Regulatory Authorities Regarding Governance Issues of Safe Foundation
2026-10-04 22:02:23
According to CoinMeta, an early investor in Safe, Greenfield Capital, has filed a complaint with the Swiss Federal Foundation regulatory authority, ESA, regarding the governance issues of Safe Ecosystem Foundation. Greenfield alleges that after a hack on Bybit in February 2025, Stefan George, a director of the Safe foundation, along with Martin K and ppelmann, demanded that other directors hand over a large number of Safe tokens. They threatened to sell their holdings, which accounted for about 10% of the total supply of Safe, leading to a redistribution of the tokens. Greenfield states that this incident has been confirmed by multiple sources and accuses the Safe foundation's board of directors of lacking independence and having conflicts of interest. Greenfield previously requested the replacement of Stefan George and the introduction of independent external directors, but this was rejected by the foundation. It is emphasized that this complaint is not directed at any individual and does not aim to gain control of Safe.
