CoinMeta data: Despite the recent attack on the fourth oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, Middle Eastern crude oil exports have recovered to about 98% of pre-war levels. On October 4th, an oil tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz was hit by an unidentified object, causing damage to the engine room, but all crew members were safe and no environmental impact was detected. JPMorgan estimates that Middle Eastern crude oil shipments have rebounded to about 17.5 million barrels per day, and the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz has also significantly resumed. Recently, oil prices have fallen due to improved supply, with Brent crude oil prices dropping to around $102.59 per barrel. Although still higher than pre-war levels, there is still a significant geopolitical premium in the market.
